Mod Overview. The Great War mod is a total conversion modification for Napoleon: Total War. It aims to create an authentic representation of World War 1-era tactics, strategies and general warfare within the game. Sep 7, 2017 - I honestly can't remember how I did it. I think I just transferred everything to the data folder and used the launcher of the mod itself.

Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists! That's very true, installing NTW and really any of the total wars after M2 can be a bitch. Have you saved the mod files and made a copy of your NTW files? I find that's the best policy when tinkering with new mods.
If you have, you can use your backup to reinstall NTW vanilla very quickly. As far as advice goes on reinstalling NTW quickly, if you can check the mod folder to see which files the mod alters, you can delete only those files and then verify the integrity of your game chache on Steam.
That will cause Steam to only download the missing files and should save some time. Especially because I know that this mod doesn't override your ability to play vanilla NTW. EDIT: grammar. Now did you download both TGW 5.1 and the 5.1.4 patch?
I doubt the 5.1.4 patch would work without the 5.1 installation but I'm trying to go through all the troubleshooting issues I could think of. If you have downloaded 5.1 and 5.1.4 and have installed them per the instructions in the ReadMe's then I would suggest trying to use 5.1 without the patches, as I am still on 5.1.2 (5.1.3 didn't work for me and I didn't know 5.1.4 was out until I saw it just now). This could narrow down the problem further.
